Rachel has been reporting the HELL out of the BP catastrophe.

If you are hungry for hard information and a clear statement of where the lines are drawn, her show is must see this past week.

She called out her TV colleagues on the first night, (second?) noting that they were all bending elbows at a locat watering hole instead of doing what they should have been doing. It was just one sentence, but it was unique.

She is clearly distressed over the situation, as we ALL should be. There are two pictures that have seared themselves into my mind. One is of a pelican, drenched in oil, trying to raise it's wings, looking for all the world like a victim of a crucifiction... and the other is of a bird that might or might not be a pelican, buried up to it's neck in the foul stinking shit of civilization. I doubt if either one of those poor creatures are alive right now.

If our media hadn't spent the last 30 years hypnotizing deadening our senses, you would hear wailing in the streets.

1. On the segue from KO's show to her's she said she wanted to ask

the bosses if she could stay there six more months because it was cool. Keith said he knew she wanted that to report on EVERYTHING in those six months. (paraphrasing what I heard and it may not be the exact words)
