I'm just learning about this deal-making that goes on before campaign runs. Frankly, I don't know enough about the Sestak thing to answer this poll which seems like every answer is loaded:
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/todaysbuzz/wednesday/I wouldn't mind hearing someone's views on the matter.
What I am concerned about is that, even if the Obama thing is on the level, there is some pretty stinky things going on with similar deals. So it opens up the issue for questioning. Why is the Dem party offering big chunks to induce people to move out of the way, especially when they have a known ethical problem? For example, in a local race, a Dem. candidate is running against a Dem incumbent. (The fact that this guy is doing this should tip you off to how committed he is to your party.) The guy was interviewed and he said that the Dem party offered him a good chunk of change if he would run in another race instead.
This is what bothers me about this. This guy has a serious ethical problem hanging over his head. Everyone knows about in the backrooms. Any run for office is going to bring up the fact that he broke the laws of Florida when he was once an elected official. And that he lied about it and got away with it, without serious penalty. So if this is all known, why would the Dem party offer him a quarter of a million dollars to run for another office?
See what this does? It tells people not to donate to the Dem party because they are very loose with the money.
