i've never liked that word in it's common use today; to refer to the payout of, earned and paid for, benefits from the gov :argh:

heres an example from Frank Rich in todays nyt. - a 'lefty' no less...

"Many Tea Partiers seem unaware that Medicare is a government entitlement postdating Tom Paine."

not that its tech wrong, but it sounds like code/control word to the freaks for all that is wrong with our society today (or at least one of the biggies) a 'handout' to a person with an 'attitude'.

so, i was thinking (hold back your laughter/tears) that there probably exist a better vobaulary out there (like newt did in the 90s) for us, the good guys

anyone gotta link?

tia :toast:

BTW: if there isn't a better/updated one, maybe that would be a good DU project - probably already one, and i just need a link - among other things, im sure ;)

2. Just ask why people who paid for Social Security and Medicare are not entitled to get it.

7. "It's our money" Or "our money"
Edited on Sun May-30-10 10:28 PM by Better Believe It
Such as "our Social Security money", "our Medicare money", "don't steal our Social Security, don't let the rich steal the benefits we paid for,

It's our social security, it belongs to us.

Social Security belongs to us, not Washington politicians.

Washington bureaucrats .... keep you hands off our social security.

Reform social security and medicare? You mean destroy it!

As you can see I'm struggling to come up with a catchy phrase or slogan, others can probably do better.
