Thank God you don't live in Oklahoma, By Mark Morford

There's a touching scene in "The Dildo Diaries," a sweet 'n' slippery little documentary released way back in 2002, in the very beginnings of the Dark Days of Bush, in which we as viewers are privy to a truly hellish hallucination, a series of images that, should you ever choose to bear witness, will haunt you for the rest of your days.

Even now, I believe it is one of the most frightening scenes ever put to film. Far more repellant, in its way, than images of thousands of dead birds in the Gulf, than KFC meat-like garbage food, than the slasher porn of "Saw IV."

We are shown, via actual footage, a typical workday inside the Texas state legislature.

Oh my sweet Jesus with stockroom.com gift card, you have never seen such discomfort, such moral claustrophobia, such unchecked legislative dorkage. The setting is exactly as you might expect: An ungainly, horribly dressed room somewhere in Austin, packed like chunky beef tallow with good ol' boy Texas manhood, a veritable cattle call of mostly older, largely clammy males and a scattershot assortment of nonplussed females, all ambling about with very few qualities resembling intellectual acumen, subtlety, grace. ...

All of these bullshit laws that OUR legislature passed will be found to be UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

So, no, I will not thank a "god" that I don't believe in for not living in a state that I DO live in.

This whole country has a disease. Some places it is more visible. But these same evil men are in California and New York and fucking Arizona just waiting for their chance to take over.

4. Pardon me, but it appears that militant atheism is more important to you than recognizing that the
author agrees with you.

I don't understand why someone would regard a potential ally as an enemy over a figure of speech. It appears that all other possibilities will be sacrificed to compliance with a dictum that is impossible to meet, i.e. that no one refer a "god" to you. **IF** that IS the case, then DIVISION is of a higher priority to you than the value that you place in atheism, because you exclude any chance of potential commonality by setting a criteria that is impossible to meet. It's called cutting your nose off to spite their face and that may or may not apply to you, but you post appears to put kicking butt FIRST over any other communication, even over representing Atheism in any useful and effective manner.

7. I will NOT
cut of MY nose to spite MY face. That would be defacing this fine form that the lord, our whatever wherever he is gave to me blah blah blah-

Oh, wait...we agree with each other. That was just a figure of speech. Never mind.

16. You might want to reconsider your knee-jerk reaction to the word "God."
If you knew anything about Mark Morford, you'd realize that any reference he does to "God" is tongue-in-cheek. He doesn't believe in God any more than you do. So if you find references to "God" so personally offensive that you have to completely toss the rest of a person's message in the trash, you're being a bit hasty.

3. I bet every one of the sponsors of OK's anti-Women laws gets higher than a kite about dead Soldiers.
This would prove that they are hypocrits and that the only thing that they REALLY seek is power over Women's bodies.

Because . . .

War IS Abortion!

11. The fact that they continue to deny it is PROOF positive of how anti-Life they are.

"Pro-Life" and a lot of other so-called Faith-based stuff is about JOBS, in this case, very attractive, socially rewarding jobs being "saints" for money.

In a culture of War Slavery to trans-national corporations, including Oil Monarchs, Women's choice in reproductive services is a sacrament.

15. I truly believe they are a Death Cult
Evolutionary stragglers, truly "left behind". I read the other day text from the 19th century (can't remember where, don't ask) about needing humans as fodder, I am sure that (their fear and loathing of women is the twofer) is what is motivating them. Back then the idea was commonly acknowledged among the elite. I suppose now it is a sign of progress that they have to disguise it.

Human bodies were needed for slave labor and war. The more humans you had the more wealth you could acquire.

13. War is abortion
Yep, been saying that for years.

It actually is even worse than abortion because war effects so many who never saw it coming.

5. mm makes my day again

Writing of OK's Draconian new anti-choice laws:

"Still another would tie women to a pickup truck and drag them screaming through the streets for ever daring to have a vagina in the first place. I might be exaggerating that last one. But not by much."

Thanks again Mark ;)

States like Oklahoma serve as America's methhead cousins - constant reminders of how we might have turned out if we'd continued to hang out with the wrong crowd in the eighth grade.

10. "And there is no appreciating progress without appreciating the
stagnation and spiritual ignorance from whence it escaped." That's a great quote. I'm less than 110 miles from Tulsa, Oklahoma and am officially boycotting the state. I will not return to the Tulsa Zoo or Aquarium, nor shop or visit there.

18. Curious - could they write "f#ck you" on every survey line?
Or nonsense answers. I would.

Number of partners? "billions"
Relationship with baby's father: "None of your f#cking business"
Birth Control used: "Television"
Age at 1st intercourse: "103"

I mean seriously - is someone going to grade this before the procedure? So why take it seriously? This is simply infuriating. Screw them.
