Why Are They on TV

This morning NBC's Today Show featured an interview with Tareq and Michaele Salahi. I did not watch the interview; however, I do not see why the Today Show had these people on their show. There are so many important things that are going on in the world. Instead of interviewing the Salahis, the Today Show could have spent more time discussing issues like the oil spill in the Gulf, troops in Iraq or Afganistan, or even the events taking place between North and South Korea. Those stories have more impact on people lives than whatever the Salahis have done or are doing.

Yep, few, if any of us give a tinker's damn about these "political celebrities" but our world is of little consequence to the self important and their flavors of the moment.

They probably don't even know where the Gulf of Mexico is.

North Korea? South Korea?
