Now I know where the language pattern of Oil/Banking industry execs comes from:
Ever listen to NHL Hockey Players? they make baseball and football players sound like George Bernard Shaw. They don't answer any questions, they speak in pure platitudes (Sure we want to win...it's the Playoffs.), offer no enlightenment to fans as to what goes on behind the scenes (boardroom vs. locker room), no follow-up questions by the media such as this exchange:

Q: "Did you change your defensive scheme after you lost 8-1 last night?"
A: "No."
Q: "Have a good game."

Sort of like the dear, departed Timmeh Russert's style, right?

Q: "Senator McCain, did you have sex with that lobbyist?"
A: " No, Tim."
Q: "Good luck in the Election sir, we here at GE are pulling for you and Sara, since I think she's a Buffalo Sabres fan."

Swear to God, it's identical...
