Tea Party Leader: Allah Is 'Monkey God'
A top Tea Party leader, enraged by a plan to build a mosque near Ground Zero, has referred to the Islamic deity as a "monkey-god" and to Muslims as "the animals of allah." His Tea Party group, meanwhile, tells TPMmuckraker it's not concerned abut the rhetoric.

Mark Williams, the conservative talk radio host who is listed as chairman of the Tea Party Express and acts as a frequent spokesman for the group, wrote on his blog Friday:

The animals of allah for whom any day is a great day for a massacre are drooling over the positive response that they are getting from New York City officials over a proposal to build a 13 story monument to the 9/11 Muslims who hijacked those 4 airliners.

The monument would consist of a Mosque for the worship of the terrorists' monkey-god and a "cultural center" to propagandize for the extermination of all things not approved by their cult.

1. Wait... isn't Allah just the name of God? Don't all the Religions of Abraham share the same God?
So, assuming this teaklanner is a Christian or Jewish, then aren't they slamming their own God.

9. Eh, I think he thinks Mohammed is Allah.
And he's confusing the whole thing with that Hindu monkey god who shows up in Bollywood stuff.

If you weren't taught religions of the world in school, and have no personal curiosity, you can get so very confused.

Which really only shows this teaklanner to be even dumber than I originally thought.

3. I wonder if the reaction from the media would be the same if he said it about Jews.
I think not.

If he'd said the same thing about Jews he'd never be let back into the station.

7. Good luck trying to recruit Muslims to the Tea Party.
All that Mr. Williams is doing is making the Tea Party even more exclusionary by contributing to its culture of intolerance and incivility. How can he expect to invite a wider coalition of Americans to protest governmental wrongs while spontaneously hating non-white/non-Christian cultures?

At least there are some blacks willing to associate with the Tea Party. To date I have never heard of a single Teabagger who's Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Scientologist, atheist, or agnostic. I know a few Asians who support the Tea Party movement. Maybe a few Hispanics, oh yeah like Marco Rubio.

11. Wow!
Somebody needs to talk to this dude's Sunday school teacher. There is a serious debate as to whether Islam is a Christian heresy or a Jewish heresy. Anyway you figure it, all three worship the ancient Persian God of Zoroaster. Stupid is getting to be a serious problem in this country, and ignorant is completely out of control.

Maybe. Maybe not.
From the OP cited article:

None of this appears to have prompted Tea Party Express -- the prominent Tea Party group created and run by a California GOP consulting firm -- to rethink its ties to Williams. Asked about the comments, Joe Wierzbicki of TPE told TPMmuckraker: "It doesn't have anything to do with the Tea Party Express and the issues addressed by the tea party movement, and was written on Mr. William's personal blog, and not on any Tea Party Express website, blog or social networking page."

But an activist for Tea Party Patriots didn't mince words. "This is hate speech and has no place in the tea party movement," he said.

FYI - The Teabaggers are having a bit of a power struggle/king-of-the-mountain thing going on right now - which is hilarious.

14. "My god can beat up your god"...that is the kind of shit that comes up when humans invent deities
that conveniently agree with their own agendas. It's a very much open question if our species will ever outgrow that particular insanity.

26. It isn't attacking 'someone's' religion, it's ridiculing ALL religion that's based on delusion..
Belief in supernatural deities whi by definition must be amenable to the believer's desires always leads to misanthropy.

16. The sheer honesty is amazing.
What's really amazing is how openly and honestly some people are expressing their anti-Muslim bigotry. We've all heard people say "I'm not a racist" even when their actions are plainly race-motivated. What's different here is that some people are basically saying, "I want to discriminate against Muslims and I'll tell the whole world I'm doing it." When people are proud of their bigotry and make no apology for it then things are going to the next level. Anti-Muslim violence wouldn't surprise me at all. You can bet your boots that we'll start to see religious discrimination cases popping up in the federal courts over this kind of stuff.

But what this guy said... well I am not shocked to see it, whether it is Muslims, Mexicans, Jews, or any "other." It is, sadly, American as apple pie in certain quarters.

Incest produces human race (Adam + Eve --> two sons :wtf: ), a boat carrying two of every species, a virgin birth, a dead dude coming back to save believers aaaaany day now, a burning bush, a pillar of salt, a 200+ year old human -- it's all a bunch of made-up bullpuckey.

39. After 9/11 someone was doing a documentary on ground zero. They
followed two muslim people (visible muslims) to see what the reaction of other people was. People kept walking up to them and were saying "are you being treated okay?". I cried and cried. I think putting a mosque at 9/11 is a brilliant thing. Also a loving action.
