3. Talk about "freedom" and "government intervention!" Would you also be for regulating how long
someone can wear his/her hair before having it cut for "the better good?" Give me a break! . . .I am all for helping in anyway possible. . .and I don't mind if my (short) hair are part of the "helping" process. . .but regulating it????

4. People would freak out on both sides if the government made each family send in a DNA sample.
Even if there was absolutely no way for the government to create a DNA database from the mandated hair, many people would still get really riled up.

7. When you cut hair you don't get DNA, that comes from the roots

12. I'll be darn, I never knew that... "For DNA testing, the hair must include the root. This
requires that the hair be plucked, not cut." I learn so many things on DU. Thanks for posting this!

9. Hair trimmings wouldn't have DNA unless it included strands pulled
by the root. Though I agree that requiring anything from every family should be a no-go. My hair would look pretty stupid if you tried to cut it now - I've got another few weeks to go before I'll need a trim.

6. Yes, because nothing says sane, rational leader
like a mandate for your hair clippings.

8. When I saw the title I thought it was a RW claim that Obama wanted to mandate
hair clippings from every family for DNA tracking/cataloging of all citizens.

After the very cold winter in Florida, he is shedding like crazy. I would be very happy to collect his fur and donate it.
