ChickMagic's funeral - Saturday, May 15
The funeral for my wife, Virginia Barnett, will be on Saturday, May 15 at the Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Visitation will start at 1:30pm on Saturday, and the funeral itself will be at 3pm.

If you knew Ginny, please attend if you are able - I know she would greatly appreciate it.

My niece's husband, Chris Cochran, will be officiating at the funeral, and I am also planning to deliver her eulogy.

Grove Hill Cemetery is located at 3920 Samuell Boulevard, just south of Interstate 30. Their number is (214) 388-8887. Flowers will always be appreciated, but if you'd rather make a donation to a charity in Ginny's name, please consider donating to either Rogers Wildlife Rehabilitation or SPCA of Dallas.

A big, heartfelt THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone in the DU community for their love and support during these trying times.

12. I will be there
I don't know if you remember, but Ginny's the one who told me about DU. We were writing letters to Iowa at my first Dean For America meetup. She said to go to democraticunderground.com as a one-stop shop for the latest news before it hit the M$M -- if it ever hit at all. I've been doing it ever since.

Take care bud, and hope you're hanging in there.

16. Ginny introduced me to DU as well
That was around the time I morphed from an ex-Republican pissed off about George W. Bush into a dedicated, full-fledged Howard Dean Democrat. And I have Ginny to thank for turning me on to this site - it has been my home on the information superhighway for many years.

Thanks for coming on Saturday. See you there.

15. Dear Derby, I am currently in Paris. Know that there will be a,,,,
candle burning in Ginny's name at Notre Dame Cathedral on Sat. I know Ginny shared my views on religion, but I still get chills when I enter the place, it's age and beauty are overwhelming. I wish you strength to get through these very difficult times.

Hope you can find some peace and solace during this difficult time. Hugs to you and yours.

I revised the pic, since I didn't like the first one as much as this one. I know Ginny and Molly are raising some Texas hell right about now.

I hope you will consider posting the eulogy here, as I'm sure everyone would love to share in your memory of Ginny, even from long distances.

Take Care my friend

Memories become gifts to the heart Shared memories draw us closer to each other. My kids and I will, from time to time, recall something funny or delightful about their dad. Memories help fill that empty space.

I'm sorry I won't be able to drive there Derby, but I do remember Ginny. May she enjoy her new existence free of pain while she looks over you in this world. She's running with the other great dames of Texas in the big Texas Democratic convention in the sky.

I made a contribution to Rogers Wildlife. Here is the link for others to follow if they choose this charity:
