I actually have no objection as long as they use THIS photo:

Anyway, the freeper thread, based on a story in the Moonie Times:

Reports: Reagan slated for 2011 stamp
Washington Times ^ | 5/10/2010 | Mark A. Kellner

Posted on Monday, May 10, 2010 12:06:28 PM by markomalley

There he goes again.

Ronald Reagan, 40th president of the United States, is expected to "three-peat" as the subject of a U.S. commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of his birth's centennial next year.

The Web site of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation & Library lists the issuance of a U.S. Postal Service commemorative stamp among the planned events for the Reagan Centennial Celebration.

"The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation is planning a series of exciting events, programs and initiatives to celebrate this historic moment including . . . Commemorative postage stamp," the site says.

Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform and a Reagan aficionado who has led a campaign for nationwide public commemorations of the 40th president, doesn't doubt the stamp will appear.

"If the Reagan Library has it, they've been told," he told The Washington Times.

The Reagan birth-centennial stamp was reported in the May 24 issue of Linn's Stamp News, which bills itself as the "world's largest weekly stamp" newspaper. Linn's also noted the mention of the stamp by U.S. News & World Report "Washington Whispers" columnist Paul Bedard. Linn's writer Jay Bigalke told The Times he has received independent confirmation of the stamp from within the Postal Service.

If the Dems are still in charge of Congress in 2011, I hope it’s a picture of Reagan either (1) weeping, or (2) a picture from the “tear down this wall” speech...

More Reagan is always a good thing.

There’s a weekly newspaper devoted to stamps?

3. A Reagan stamp is entirely appropriate
It's a time honored tradition to honor presidents who have passed away with a stamp.

21. A true story...
...the Secret Service used to keep the leaves from his lawn in trash bags.

I don't remember where I read it, and the "LINK???" police can fucking bite me. There's a little thing called "Google" for all but the laziest among us.

When he was deep into Alzheimer's, for whatever reason, raking leaves gave him some form of peace.

The Secret Service would gather up the leaves, then empty them on the lawn again so he'd have something to do.

I am reminded of Neil Young's song, "Campaigner," and the lines "Even Richard Nixon has got soul..."

Make no mistake, anyone who's read a handful of my threads knows that I wipe my ass with Reagan AND his presidency...

...but what the fuck. People should go out in a blaze of glory, not raking leaves that they've raked 100 times before.

15. Well, he was attractive when he was young. When I was in elementary school we thought of him as
old, doddering, not really there. He was President the entire time I was in that school and he just got older and more senile... Old Ronnie.

you see and mail them off. It'll be great fun!
