Attention Haristylists, groomers, etc: HAIR helps with OIL spill!!

http://matteroftrust.org/

Found this site while poking around on MSNBC's page about volunteer orgs.
I suggest we all try and contact our hairdressers or dog groomers LOCALLY and get them signed up with this program!
every little bit helps...right? and ACTION is imperative for us all...

Turns out that they can use hair to fill the booms and it will soak up the oil ...

here's the link to MSNBC's blog with more volunteer orgs:

Unfortunately, the link on the MSNBC home page was way too insignificant to see...hope they make it bigger soon!

1. I hate I can't offer much
I went to the barber this week.

I keep my hair pretty short and what little bit is shaved probably wouldn't help. =/

6. I'm thinking if they want groomers to participate
then yes!

go to their site & register and then you can access the list of places to send hair, or call your local groomer and get them to do a big "grooming day" :)

5. My hair won't. It's already full of oil, thank you. Though in recent years
it's finally slacked off a bit.

7. Will they take pubes?
Having pubes save the day would really be the most hilarious thing that has ever happened.

8. I have a german shepherd and two huskies
I swear the hair I get off them in their bi-weekly brushings alone could plug the geyser at its source.

11. Pet fur is acceptable. Please read instructions at link under individual
donations. Pet fur and human hair donations simply need to be kept separate.

12. They also ask for nylon/pantyhose donations. They need to be clean but rips are okay.
