"But that does not seem to be enough for some dissenters"
Edited on Sat May-01-10 04:58 PM by Robb
...the author of this editorial seems to be cribbing from many on DU:

....Obama is on record as saying he wants to revoke the (DADT) policy and allow gays to serve openly. But that does not seem to be enough for some dissenters. They want revocation right this minute and are confronting Obama. Last week, police had to clear Lafayette Park across the street from the White House because DADT protesters became so rowdy. That was extremely unusual, as the park is traditionally set aside for dissenters.

Also, peace activists Code Pink and Cindy Sheehan have now branded the president a “warmonger” for not pulling out of Iraq and Afghanistan, which, of course, would immediately lead to thousands of deaths. It’s interesting that the peaceniks apparently don’t care whether many people die violent deaths as long as “peace” is embraced. And they don’t seem to be bothered by the fact that Afghan women would be brutalized if the Taliban returns. Give peace a chance? Sure, if you don’t mind women not being able to leave the house....

You'll never believe http://www.bostonherald.com/news/opinion/op_ed/view.bg?articleid=1251595&srvc=rss">who wrote the piece.

Perhaps this is an opportunity for us -- myself sadly included, at least on the war -- to re-examine the company we keep when we choose to tell people to "be patient."

1. Recommend -- when something is clear as nose one someones face
I've never much seen the need for patience.

Oddly enough neither did my parents - and they would enact swift - but temporary
punishment. Pain is a good teacher.
