They have little material concern with Obama. It's all about what Obama stands for which is progress. He's the symbol of progress when they want to regress back to the "good old days".

If it's all about taxes coming down to zero, they'd be consistent about that at all times. They might be dumb, but most of them know that no President is going to reduce taxes to zero.

You're right that they won't be happy until their taxes are 0%. But you're wrong if you don't think Obama isn't an issue for them. They (almost) universally hate him, and I cannot believe that race isn't at least a part of the reason. I went through the "Voices of the Tea Party" videos submitted to the NYT as part of their poll. They are all earnest and sober. Not a wild-eyed extremist in the bunch, until you think about what they're actually saying. I made a 2-minute slam based on their videos, to try to put things in perspective. There are two versions. The first is at
