It could be trying to create linkage.

Not going off deep end with linkage, because only a few people would get it, but by his choice of words, he links together a string of correlations.

I think both of those individuals, Bachmann, and Palin, mostly use emotional devices to create followship in people, but do not have a firm grasp of ideas, nor do they inspire thought on ideas with most of their listeners.


To be fair...
Tweety did mention that they use certain 'feeling' words, like fishing and hunting and things that invoke emotional feelings in a stump speech, but that is a comment on style without comment on what is actually being said, so it seems he is commenting on cult of personality more then what they are actually saying.

Pat Buchannan was sorta talking that way also.
