FBI warns letters to governors could stir violence
By EILEEN SULLIVAN and DEVLIN BARRETT

Associated Press Writers
WASHINGTON —

The FBI is warning police across the country that an anti-government group's call to remove governors from office could provoke violence. The group called the Guardians of the free Republics wants to "restore America" by peacefully dismantling parts of the government, according to its Web site. It sent letters to governors demanding they leave office or be removed.

Investigators do not see threats of violence in the group's message, but fear the broad call for removal of top state officials could lead others to act out violently. At least two states beefed up security in response.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said he received one of the letters but wasn't overly alarmed.

"We get all kinds of, shall we say, 'interesting' mail, so it's not out of the norm," Pawlenty said Friday. "It got more attention because it went to so many governors."

media seems to skip over a lot. In some cases I'm sure it's by choice and others maybe just overload. The flurry of information today is so intense and vast IMO. It's posted in this thread again. It is scary...

7. Frankly, I'm beginning to think Fox News is promoting a revolution. I can just imagine what
will be the theme when the gov. tries to figure out illegal immigration and all. They seem highly visible in promoting all of the unrest and anxiety they can in this country. I am really beginning to wonder what Murdock's real objective is...

Will they just shut those assholes down over there already? They're not even trying to hide it any more. Looks like they're oozing out of their mothers' basements. :puke:

8. This is why they usually don't alert the media about these types of threats
but since government officials on both sides can score political points over these threats they're going to throw a fit over every single threatening email, fax, phone call, mail they receive on a daily basis thus continuing the cycle.

Just so you know people in the public eye receives threats all the time this includes teachers, professors, law enforcement, doctors, pastors, etc.
