You know what the biggest kick in the gut is?
The corporate wing of the party was right about Kucinich.

Kucinich has proven to have been nothing but a grandstanding buffon, with out any principals or intregrity, I have no use for this party anymore. Congrats right wing corporate members of the party. You were right about Kucinich and I was wrong. I can admit I was wrong.

It's very cold and chilling to realize the only person that may have any integrity is Bart Stupak. I guess hatred of women is stronger than hatred of corporations.

WHO represents the left in this party anymore? This is a sad day.

Anyways, goodbye everyone. I no longer have a reason to be on the Democraticunderground because there is no one in this party who represents my anti corporate beliefs. I said if Kucinich flipped I was done with this party forever and, unlike Kucinich, I have principals and integrity.

Well, in fairness, they might give you a warm sense of superiority. But beyond that . . .

31. How come nobody knows how to spell 'buffoon'?
I like that DK dissed the bill even as he said he would vote for it - making it obvious that he is placing his Democratic principles above his personal principles. The party can't do anything if we are put out of power, and he chose a course to try to keep it in power.

I disagree with him, but I can't fault him for that.

One plus to this is that when it becomes apparent to everyone how fucked up this bill is, the DLC and corporate Dems will be stuck with the fallout. Maybe people will come to understand that we should have been listening to Dennis the whole time.

16. He was my last hold out. I guess the left was right about DK too.
Leftist criticism of DK is that he serves to give the Democratic party an ostensible "left wing", the sense of a "big tent", in order to pull everyone in line to support things that are unsupportable.

22. Interesting that you consider Bart Stupak's position of being against abortion as hatred of women
but you must have considered DK's earlier opposition to abortion and stem cell research as principled, because you weren't disappointed in him until he decided to support the caucus.

For the record politics is never an individual sport it requires by definition leaving some of your individual principles to join the discipline of the larger group.

No political movement has ever succeeded without some form of discipline.

You are free to join the Naderites who can relish their individual principles and never get anything passed.

25. Eat some crow!
I've been around long enough to see a thousand of these posts. I consider myself a fiscally conservative democrat, so naturally I have been on the other side of a lot of arguments here.
But, I'm not a one issue democrat. The key word is democrat, I have never voted otherwise. I was a hardline Clinton advocate in the primaries, but quickly switched my support to Obama when he was nominated, and I have no regrets. I was certain Obama would not get HCR done, but any dem was better than the alternative. I was wrong. Not the first time, and won't be the last.

Good luck on finding a party that is totally anti-corporate.....I don't think it exists these days.
