Folding@Home
Is anyone having trouble getting work units for Folding? I have not been able to get work on two of my computers since early yesterday, although one of my laptops has picked up work. The message is: "Work unit has an invalid address." I'm not sure what the problem might be as I have been doing folding for quite some time on all of my computers and have never encountered this problem before. Any advice will be much appreciated. :)

1. I have a current work unit that I just restarted...
but it downloaded on Wednesday. (I have a problem with overheating sometimes with Folding@Home).

2. Thanks for the kick.
Yesterday I thought perhaps one of the servers at the university might be down. However, now that it has continued into today, I'm at a loss as to what the problem might be. :)

5. I have had 4 restarts in 4 weeks due to badly behaved "large units"
I thought it was over heating but I monitored the temp and found no problem.

It seems contention with other programs can dump all work to date and lock up the machine at times - no big deal - but a nuisance that the "large unit" bonus system does warn you about.

3. About a month ago I had that problem.
I had to reboot my linux machine to make it go away. I have no idea why or what happened!

6. Thank you.
I did reboot one of my machines, without any effect. :(

7. Looking below, why I got my errors make more sense.
I switched from accepted big units to going back to the normal smaller units. I suspect it took a reboot for that to take effect. Are you currently configured to accept large units?

9. Yes, I am.
I've done quite a number of the big units.

4. I looked up that message and found this:

Apparently there's nothing available for your work unit criteria (server down, whatever).

8. Oh, thank you very much.
I didn't realize that there was a "look up" for the problem. I very much appreciate your effort and I'll search there if I have any more problems. Now I'll stop looking for something wrong with my computers. :) There must have been one unit available when my laptop went searching earlier.
