An entitlement is a guarantee of access to benefits because of rights or by agreement through law. The benefit is our common defense, the access to that benefit is brought through the US Army and Navy, and the law is laid out in both the Preamble to the US Constitution, and in Art 1, Section 8 of the Constitution itself.
Just like Universal Health Care would be the benefit, access is brought through the a Universal Health Care System, and the law was laid out in Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, as follows:
- No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States.
- Nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law;
- Nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."
The gross inequality that is inherent in a For-Profit Health Care System, which dictates that life is a commodity that has a price value, and as such only afforded to those with sufficient wealth. This system breaks humanity into separate classes of people, and discriminates against those without wealth. This completely violates most, if not all, of the 14th Amendment.
You can't just take the parts of the Constitution you like and claim the Constitution is on your side! You have to take the whole body of work, not peck through it like a part-time Preacher with a Bible full of verses that have never seen the light of day.
