Right proclaimed Clinton dead after his first year as well.
What gets me about all this is how this is such a repeat of 1993-94.

The far right was callng Clinton the same names, "Marxist," "Socialist," "Communist," etc. I could have gotten rich betting them Clinton would be re-elected. They were calling him "Lame duck."

Obama is in the lamost identical positing at this point in his presidency as Ronald Reagan was. Even the same approval rating. Right wing revisionists never mention how badly Reagan tanked the economy in the first three years he was in office. THey act as if he cut taxes and the economy "soared."

When Reagan took office in January of 1981 unemployment was 7.6%. By August of 1983, his THIRD year, it had saored to 10.8%. One year later when it was still 7.7%, Reagan won 49 states claiming "Its Morning ni America."

The political winds shift back and forth. Everyone in the media act as if this is all so new. Believe me, there is nothng new in politics.
