OT: Remember when Fox was a bright light? *for folks over 25*

They brought us the Simpsons, Johnny Depp (21 Jump Street), Married with Children, In Living Color and The X Files....

There for a while, it looked great. Granted, the entertainment division still brings on some good titles but their news division tainted it forever for me. BUT (ignoring Rupert) WTF made them so socially irresponsible?

1. Not really
the only show I watched out of those was married with children. Yea, that was funny sometimes. The rest of those shows were pretty crappy, or at least I thought so. Never did understand the appeal of the simpsons, I thought it sucked.

2. You aren't alone.
My ex and I brought tapes of Married With Children to my parent's home one visit and we were sure they were the funniest things ever broadcast on television.

As we sat laughing our asses off we noticed that everyone else in the room were looking as if we put in a tape of two dogs fucking into the VCR.

:spray: I remember telling my boyfriend's mother how that was my favorite show ... dead silence. :yoiks: I wonder now why I thought it was so hilarious especially since they show the repeats and it's just not that funny, same old jokes over and over. x(

5. I think everyone in the room that night was on the bright side
but the disparity in the appreciation of the show was deafening.

3. They had some funny funny stuff. And the X-files was pretty good too.
They would be ok if they stayed out of politics.
