"Saddam had prewar ties to Al Qaeda"

We all know this is crapola, but there's a chowderhead I know that still claims this is true. Claims "secret papers prove it". I know there were various intelligence sources that thoroughly debunked this flat out myth, but don't have any links handy. Anybody have any? Thanks in advance.

1. ask him -- if the papers are SECRET how does HE know about them?
Make HIM cite his source. You can then blow his ignorant behind away with facts.

have minds that are not only closed but nailed shut. They wont listen to the facts. And Saddam had such a good working relationship with Al Quaida that they had a contract out on him.

8. You're right, it's a debate ender IMHO
Ran into one of these guys yesterday in the comments section on my video on YouTube. I basically ended the debate right after he repeated that Iraq attacked us, links to Al Quaida, WMD yadda yadda. I said I didn't have time to debate someone who wouldn't grasp reality. I was actually surprised to find someone who still believed that, silly me!

9. Similar to ignorant trash lemmings
saying a covert undercover CIA operative was not. How did they know? Incredible.

limbaugh ranted for years that she was not undercover then after she testified he said nobody knows if she was undercover. Which way is it conservatives? As Colbert put it best, truth has a liberal bias.

And if the papers were(are) SECRET and are still classified and the guy has access to them, he's broken federal law and should be turned over to the feds.

6. We're talking about an administration that's given away troop locations...
...to score a few political points back home. If B*sh had even the slimmest evidence--Saddam's cousin's auto mechanic thinks he might have met the son of the best friend of Osama's brother's plumber--he'd be shouting it from the rooftops.

If he knows about something called Google, he can find this nice little article among many others:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A47812-2004Jun16.html

There are words in the document that he can get his mommy to read to him with his milk and cookies:

"Along with the contention that Saddam Hussein was stockpiling weapons of mass destruction, President Bush, Vice President Cheney and other top administration officials have often asserted that there were extensive ties between Hussein's government and Osama bin Laden's terrorist network; earlier this year, Cheney said evidence of a link was "overwhelming."

But the report of the commission's staff, based on its access to all relevant classified information, said that there had been contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda but no cooperation. In yesterday's hearing of the panel, formally known as the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, a senior FBI official and a senior CIA analyst concurred with the finding.

The staff report said that bin Laden "explored possible cooperation with Iraq" while in Sudan through 1996, but that "Iraq apparently never responded" to a bin Laden request for help in 1994. The commission cited reports of contacts between Iraq and al Qaeda after bin Laden went to Afghanistan in 1996, adding, "but they do not appear to have resulted in a collaborative relationship. Two senior bin Laden associates have adamantly denied that any ties existed between al Qaeda and Iraq. We have no credible evidence that Iraq and al Qaeda cooperated on attacks against the United States."

He might doze off after the first paragraph, but it would be a neat bonding experience for him and his mommy.

After Mommy changes his pants from his accident, she can read this to him too:

"Ten days after the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, President Bush was told in a highly classified briefing that the U.S. intelligence community had no evidence linking the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein to the attacks and that there was scant credible evidence that Iraq had any significant collaborative ties with Al Qaeda, according to government records and current and former officials with firsthand knowledge of the matter."

10. Not only that, but...
...now that he's in paradise, many insiders say that he's been seen frequently in deep conversation with the 9/11 hijackers. Administration sources were quick to claim that the new intelligence confirms Saddam's ties to Al Qaeda and his involvement in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

"As we've said all along, Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda worked together closely to plan and execute the worst terrorist act in the history of the galaxy," administration sources said. "And now there's new evidence that his evil lives on despite his death. Even in Paradise, which you'd think would be a politics-free zone, Saddam continues his war on the American way of life. Within hours, the president will ask Congress for the supplemental funding needed to carry the war on terror into the fourth dimension. It won't be cheap or easy, but Americans must understand that this administration will do whatever it deems necessary to ensure the safety of those Americans making over $200,000 a year."

In a related incident, we've been able to confirm reports from Fairfax that an entire platoon of special forces troops has been executed by a squad of Marine sharp shooters. According to administration sources, the executions were necessary to continue the fight against terrorism into the next life.

"As the president has told us, freedom's on the march," a confidential source said. "Because of these heroic warriors' supreme sacrifice, freedom is marching straight to the notorious Islamist stronghold in Paradise, where these vicious terrorists will be denied the peace of the grave, as well as their dancing virgins and all that other nonsense they preach that makes otherwise normal people want to blow themselves to bits."

We'll have further details as they emerge. Now get out there and go shopping. The economy is waiting on you.
