When you think about it the GOP canNOT afford the Freepers to stay home in 2012, and they canNOT afford a 3rd party candidate skimming 17% of the nuttiest nuts off the "base." They will lose for sure unless they can do the usual: talk the poor, dumb freepers into voting for candidates who represent the very, very rich.

because if they do they will get banned. I'm sure that I'll probably get banned for this post, but that's okay. The post itself will probably get flushed and be replaced by one of the most prolific DU posters of all time, Name Removed.

You see, DU is not an open forum for the free exchange of diverse ideas. It is in essence an echo chamber where the members must, at least in general, walk in lockstep. Granted, there are occasions where a member thinks somewhat outside of the box and survives, but generally if you stray too far from the DU group think you are banned. But that's alright. DU is a private enterprise that can be run however the administrators see fit. It just surprises me when a member of a site that claims to be made up of some of the smartest people on the web pretends like he (or she) can't understand when Freepers don't respond to posts.

As for the OP, the Mavericky-thing is working okay for me. I like Sarah Palin, but that doesn't mean I agree with all of her decisions. Most of us Freepers realize that we will not agree with a person 100% of the time. That's just life. I can't say if I would vote for Palin if she were to run for the top office in 2012. It would depend who her opponent happened to be. I really don't think that she needs to do anything to keep Freepers riled up until 2012. The current administration seems to be doing that just fine on their own. I could be wrong, but didn't Brown's numbers increase in Mass AFTER Obama made an appearance in support of Coakley?


While I could be considered a Fundie and a Rethug, Repug, etc., I'm not a member of any of the Tea Party groups. I've never went to any of their meetings; however, if I were on the left side of the aisle I would watch them closely. They seem to be made up of a wide spectrum of people from many different walks of life. I know you guys like to think that it's all astroturf, but I think that there might be more to it than that. I realize that it's easier and more fun just to make jokes about them, but doing so could ultimately backfire on you.

As for Lucy and the football and falling for it every time, I disagree, but I'm sure with a chicken wire and cinder block experiment you could prove me wrong within 24 business hours.
