Palin's lies: 10 states ahead of Alaska in energy production
Edited on Tue Feb-09-10 12:42 PM by hlthe2b
Amazing... Even Colorado is ahead of Alaska, which ranks only 11th. "Energy expert", indeed. What a damned fraud

With all Palin's talk about being an 'energy expert', Alaska isn't even among the top 10 energy producing states
http://www.americablog.com/2010/02/with-all-palins-talk-about-being-energy.html

Alaska produces 2.9% of the total energy production of the US. Why does the media let her get away with her ongoing lie that Alaska produces 20% of the nation's energy, and thus that makes her an energy expert? It simply makes her, once again, an idiot and a liar.

1. Oh, there ya go again hlthe2b
Lookin' backwards to the past, when Sarah's all about lookin' forward to the future! *Wink* Sure, you can use your little liberal "facts" to "prove" things that might or might not be "true," but when it comes to supportin' the troops and not calling little babies the "r" word, also, why doncha love America and try going against the flow unless you're a dead fish, in which case Todd will run over you on his snow machine, God love him, and budget tax cuts for everyone!

7. The chart doesn't even have the worst part about the split between 11 and 12
My wife is from Illinois (number 12) and we've been through a lot of the state. Most of Illinois' oil production comes from very small wellheads people have in their front yards.

Sarah wants to brag about the huge amount of oil they have up there, but her state's almost being beat out by a bunch of hobby oil barons who view their oil well as a subsidized lawn decoration.

8. Yeah her statement is wrong but how much it is wrong depends on which revision you use.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/16/AR2008091603406.html

Alaska generates only 3% of US energy (however "energy" includes electrical power).

She later changed statement to supplies 20% of oil & natural gas. That is still wrong Alaska has virtually not natural gas so combined oil and nat gas Alaska supplies 7% of oil & nat gas.

Limited to only oil supplies it is closer however Alaska only supplies 13% there.

Figures lie, and liars figure. Her camp will likely spin it to anything they want it to be.
You likely could figure out so stat (net exports of oil? ) that makes the 20% "true".

10. She doesn't always lie, sometimes she's just ignorant.
And even when she does lie, she's still ignorant.

California is #3
Lousiana is #4
and North Dakota is #5 (didn't know that they had oil there.)

12. What she meant was that Alaska produces more than 20%
of the nation's hot air, and almost 50% of the nation's bullshit, which she CAN take credit for.
