Pretty cool, you can select crime types, see satellite view, street view (std google map), info about the crime.

2. The map for my city has many errors in it. Lousy mapping.

4. Thanks. My area's currently not covered, so I'll delude myself it's because there's no crime here...

until one of those bearded guys brings a spade to that rake fight, it can get out of hand in a big hurry. :-)

10. This is actually a reasonably valuable tool. . .
People shouldn't use it to scare themselves silly about stepping outside, but a little knowledge of your surroundings is always a good thing. The cities surrounding mine are included in the reporting, so I think I'll write my Mayor to see if we can get listed as well. For some reason, my city is passed over on a lot of these sorts of listings. The regional rag runs a police blotter for all the cities in the county, all except mine.

6. Interesting
unfortunately my city isn't part of it yet. I'll have to keep my eyes open.

8. Two more good ones:
Everyblock: http://www.everyblock.com

Only available in certain cities, but you can lookup by zip code and even get emailed reports daily.

Spotcrime: http://spotcrime.com/

You didn't used to, but now you have to sign up to search, but it's still a pretty good resource, and seems to be a little more ahead of the game than Everyblock.

I wonder why?
