Women avoid jail in glued penis case

CHILTON, Wis., Feb. 2 (UPI) -- Four Wisconsin women were put on probation for a year Tuesday for gluing a man's penis to his stomach after finding out about his sexual dalliances.

The women will get to avoid jail time of 30-60 days as long as they don't violate the terms of their probation, Madison's WKOW-TV reported. They also are to perform community service.

Authorities said Donessa Davis's wife, two lovers and an acquaintance of theirs had plotted their revenge last summer, luring him to a Stockbridge motel July 30 where they tied him up, blindfolded and assaulted him. The women told the court they didn't plan the gluing tactic; that part just evolved as the episode played out.

The Appleton Post-Crescent reported Therese Ziemann, 48, of Menasha; Michelle Belliveau, 43, of Neenah; Wendy Sewell, 44, of Kaukauna; and Tracy Hood-Davis, 31, of Fond du Lac, who is Davis's wife, appeared separately in Calumet County Court and were found guilty of disorderly conduct. Ziemann was convicted of battery as well.

Belleveau was the only one of the four who did not have a sexual relationship with Davis.

5. The sentence is fair. It's the double standard because they're women that is offensive.

If men had done this to the promiscuous wife of one of them, they'd all be going to prison.

I agree with the sentiment. I debated alerting because that comment is out of line with DU rules, but didn't want to have the only comment deleted that (so far) expresses something other than amusement at kidnapping and sexual assault.

It was a serious crime. Not the kind of crime I want anyone going to prison over, but a year of probation makes sense.

Personally, I think prison time is appropriate. I'm looking at it as if a group of people did something like that to me. Whatever previous gripes they had against the person should have been irrelevant unless it was self-defense and they were in immediate danger, which clearly wasn't the case.

I'm quite sure if four men had tied up and blindfolded a woman and then glued her labia closed that DUers would be screaming for them to be sent to prison and rightfully so, that is a violent sexual crime and they are sexual offenders.

Not everyone reaches the same conclusion as you, and not everyone has your personal need for incarceration as a penalty.

To explain away violence from men against women.

This shouldn't really be treated any differently - kidnapping, confinement, humiliation and assault.
