Have Asian-Americans moved left politically in the last 15-20 years?
I know this is totally non-scientific, non-empirical and highly anecdotal.

I have been re-connecting with my high school classmates on Facebook over the last few months, many of whom I have not spoken to in any capacity in 15 years. All of my Asian Facebook friends who I went to high school with, who I remember as being really right wing, Reagan-loving Republicans seem to have changed their political ideology over the last 15 years. Now their FB profiles say that they are "liberal" or "Democratic Party". In addition, many of them belong to FB groups in support of GLBT rights and other Left causes.

Have you noticed a similar trend?

3. I think the American people as a whole have shifted left
because the thing that is the most painfully clear today is that the Reagan revolution of low taxes on the rich, low taxes on corporations, relatively high taxes on workers along with depressing wages, union busting, and deregulating corporations has been a total disaster for the country as a whole and nearly everybody who lives here.

It has been such a spectactular failure that about the only people the far right has left are the lunatics and the stupid.

So yeah, I would expect it to be a trend among Xers. What seemed new and fresh in 1980 is now threadbare, establishment, stodgy, and a dismal failure.

I can think of no worse indictment for the right than that their ideas were tried for 30 years and nearly put us into another Great Depression.

9. in California majority of Asians voted against Prop 8
yes, most Asians are liberal and Democratic.

the only thing is that the ones who are Republican and Conservative tend to be very right wing. many of them are religious also.
