George W. Bush was the perfect Republican President for Republicans
Edited on Mon Feb-01-10 04:14 PM by Ardent15
Think about. He had the pro-business mentality of Wall Street, the religious fundamentalism of the South, and the love for oil of the interior Western businessmen. And he is part of all three of those cultures, if you think about where he's from (New England blueblood family that moved to western Texas).

Therefore, he was the perfect Republican candidate who could appeal to all their constituencies simultaneously. And he was the perfect Republican President to put the horrible conservative ideology into place. Not even St. Reagan could compete with him in this respect.

Sarah Palin? She's beloved by the base, but I get the feeling Wall Street doesn't trust her.

Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee? Both have regional problems.

Bush was the perfect balance for conservative ideology to wreak havoc on America.

1. Yeah, and the rest of us got stuck with him because the idiots in this country
who vote thought he'd be a good guy to sit down and have a beer with. :eyes:

Let me just say that's a lousy reason to vote for someone. Your observations of Bush are spot on, though.

4. He was never elected
"I call him Governor Bush because that's the only political office he's ever held legally."

7. As far as we know, anyway.
He did seal all those records in Texas while governor. Sneaky guy. Sneaky people usually have something to hide.

10. Eh, it wouldn't surprise me
It would just be consistent if he was never elected to anything. Regarding sealed records, that was only illegal then. Now, anything goes.

3. He might be, but the damage they've done to this nation remains
"They" being the Bush Crime Family and Cheney and the GOP in general.

5. "They" are somehow considered as American as apple pie
Funny how you can make a garbage dump into a rose garden with the right PR.

6. Just dumb enough to do what chee-nee wanted,
just smart enough to get his shoes on the right feet and get to work 60% of the time. Repugs will always choose the dumbest person in the room to be president because they feel threatened by someone who is smarter than them.

8. I know Gore had his "issues" back then and was looked upon as an extension of Clinton
but I still can't see how people could have seriously believed that there was little or no difference between him and Bush. Of course, Bush didn't actually *win* the (s)election but that's a whole other matter entirely and even after everything that happened leading up to Bush's "installation" by SCOTUS, Bush didn't even pretend to govern as though he had barely *won* the (s)election, especially after 9/11. :eyes:

9. Almost like he was being
groomed for the job from childhood. They only messed up on his drug and alcohol use and military service. But they managed to cover these up sufficiently.

13. His lack of common intelligence made him easy to manipulate.

The goppers made good use of the Boosh name to get him (s)elected.
Cheney and the insiders took over after that.
