Before people start screaming about people from Mass please remember:
Almost half of us, and I dare say most Dems, voted and/or worked to get Coakley elected. We are hurting WAY fucking more then any one else and having fellow Dems screaming at us doesn't help. Please think before you post tonight.

1. Trust me this is not about you
this is far more about the national mood.

:hi:

I know you worked your ass off.

Hugs

15. Yup- but she was the one the party leadership "chose"
Sadly the others could never over come that in the primary.

5. Amen
We did what we could. There is nothing more to add to that. Sometimes reality bites, and we have a sickening situation.

8. No one living in a Red (or barely Purple) state should be doing that
We are a little too used to that feeling (I'm in IN).

Here's a hug.

9. It gives me a terrible unsettled feeling about my own state.
Senator Feingold is up for re-election this year and there are some slimy right-wingers running against him. I would be devastated if he lost.

10. I posted something earlier about Paul Wellstone.
Losing his senate seat to Norm Coleman in 2002 was similarly painful, and I, for one, don't blame the people of MA at all; we went through something like this in MN, and it sucked. The good thing was that we finally got that seat back, though it wasn't easy. And in 2012 you will dump Brown. Hang in there.

11. It's par for the course.
I'm from California...you know, the place with Ah-nuld for governor and Proposition 8?

I suggest you grow a thick skin, because the blame game is about to start.

22. Shows how one state can never be consistent
Cal. sends Boxer to DC then turns around and elects the likes of Ahnuld. And of course we can't forget Nixon and Reagan.

So much variation.

My state can be just as variable too, I'm sure.

12. I don't think anyone is screaming at you
Most people are screaming at the DLC/Clinton brand of triangulation politics that has NEVER EVER worked yet continues to be shoved down our throats.

18. MA has TWO years to find a worthy adversary to CapeCodKen
Surely in two years, he will not distinguish himself all that much, and with Kerry as the senior senator, he will be quite overshadowed.

But those 2 years will go by in a blink of an eye...

14. Alright. There's no point in staying angry. We have too much potential to waste it.
I was furious. I called Americans stupid. And that is because I have higher standards. I care.

To know that you care, and worked for a better country, makes us kindred souls.

Cheers. And thank you for trying.

16. I'm From Texas
I'm from Texas and voters here have been either voting for right-wingers for years who habitually vote against their interests and non-voters continue their apathy. I can hardly throw rocks at you

I'm reminded of those stories of the ancient Greek voters who threw out their leaders because they were tired of them, even if those leaders were working for their interests. Here's hoping that a lot of Brown voters develop severe cases of buyers' remorse and that their symptoms are in full flare by November, 2012.

19. not screaming at you
at the state as a whole

other states could have similar challenges

I'm in a state that replaces Biden in the Senate in Nov. so we won't be able to judge if a rethug gets his seat.

21. I can imagine
I felt horrible after prop 8 passed - what the hell was wrong here? But I knew that a large percntage of us voted and worked against it.

No one here blames you or those who voted for her. I still think that Massachusetts is a blue state at heart.
