1415 Canadians missing in Haiti.

The Foreign Affairs Minister released yesterday. The missing have not contacted the embassy nor family. This makes me fear that the larger estimates for the dead in the hundreds of thousands is true.

Edited to add a link.

1. You are correct

We're talking huge numbers - well over 150,000. This took out all races, classes and nationalities. This earthquake was bigger than any building code.

I don't think people took me seriously when I said this would be the worst disaster in the Caribbean and this hemisphere. Once you knew that the President's palace and the hotel Montana were down, all bets were off. Those were solid structures built with international standards.

The entire establishment - read status quo - is gone.

3. They have to bury them now,out of fear of disease.
Burying bodies does not equal destroying bodies.

4. I hate to tell you this but the relatives already know
A catastropic earthquake hit Port-au-Prince and well over 100,000 persons are dead. If they were in Jacmel, they may also be dead. If their relatives don't show up they know that they were killed by the earthquake.

There may be a few unexpected finds of human life from here on.
