The writers also intend to honor conservatives, among them Phyllis Schlafly, while downplaying the role of civil-rights leaders. And since California is financially strapped at the moment, these revised texts are likely to appear in its state’s schools as well. Equally disturbing, Texas mandates that Bible literacy be part of its schools’ curricula. If the current trend continues look for an up-dated version of the film, Inherit the Wind.
