Poll question: Whose fault is the recent rash of contaminated food, meat & pet food? Government or Private Industry
I just listened to the news update on AAR and one of the stories was the concern that "government wasn't doing enough to protect us from contaminated food." Too me it sounds like another attempt by the CATO Institute/American Enterprise Institute to paint "government" as incompetent and private industry as the way to go.

You tell me.

4. Agreed
Private industry for only being concerned with filling their pockets, and the government for failing to protect the American public.

If Tom Delay wants to point his fingers and cry "treason" someone should direct him to ConAgra and the FDA.

7. Private industry always gets a free pass...
No one ever holds their feet to the fire, and it's somehow always the guv'mint's fault.

8. My vote would be for a third option: both
Government doesn't oversee food production enough and doesn't enforce what little legislation there is already.

Corporations are putting the almighty dollar ahead of the health of their own customers.
