Bad news on the Jobs front: Dec job loss 'not what we want': White House aide
http://www.marketwatch.com/story/dec-job-loss-not-what-we-want-white-house-aide-2010-01-08

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The decline in payroll employment in December was disappointing and "not what we want," said White House economic adviser Christina Romer on Friday. "The coast won't be clear until we're adding jobs at a robust case," Romer said. Job losses are moderating, Romer noted. The White House favors additional small "targeted" stimulus measures like a job tax credit for small businesses and will work with Congress on drawing up specifics, Romer said. At the same time, President Obama remains concerned about the large federal budget gap, Romer said. Her remarks came in a television interview shortly after the December job report was released.

The report showed a loss of 85k jobs in Dec.

Congress is going to have to shift gears quickly and work on a job creation bill.

5. The solution is easy; it's the political will that's the problem
thanks to legal bribery of the politicians by the economic elites.

7. Well, I recommended we pay off AIG's "foreign counterparties" at 1:1
Since that didn't work, I'm fresh out of ideas.

3. Congress won't do squat
It's going to get much, much worse before it remotely gets better. The elites LOVE millions of desperate people; they can treat the ones still employed like crap.

8. Until Washington decides to bring back(by any threat possible)...
all the American companies spread across the planet so that we can again hire our own people to make things here...the outlook for most workers and even the engineers and IT workers is decidedly dim.

For a couple of years now, we have been losing about half a million jobs a month. These losses continue despite false claims to the contrary.

6. The Obama admin could've been the most popular in history, if it had made JOBS its first priority
There's still time. :hi:

13. I believe HCR was the correct issue to tackle first
I definitely think it could have been handled much better. The House did an exemplary job. The Senate, not so much.

And yes, there is still plenty of time to fix the Jobs issue.

14. my primary reason for voting for Obama were jobs
my primary reason for voting for Obama were jobs. Unfortunately thus far I have been disappointed. However, I still have some hope in Obama.
British tried the same thing that US is trying now and nearly lost.

For a robust economy you need a vibrant manufacturing. Unfortunately the demon of NAFTA resurrected by Democrapublican Clinton has matured into the Bush depression and I hope that US does not become another Malaysia.

15. It was more important to get a legislative victory on health care.
So stupid. Hcr doesn't kick in for ages anyway but people are unemployed NOW. Most here think getting rid of preexisting conditions is more important than having a job. Whatever.

10. Next up for Obama: Tax cuts for Corporate America and the Wealthy Elite...
To get the economy moving again, just like a Republican would do.
RAH! RAH! RAHM!

Sorry, the Obama Administration has BLOWN all their credibility, with regards to what they say and what they do, after they screwed the American People & UNIONS on REAL Health Care Reform.

17. You failed to read the last part of my post.
Obama says one thing, then does the opposite.

Obama would just make Ronald Reagan so proud, with his Republican policies.

20. Did you re-read my post yet?
Or are you just spinning today?

Why do people unrecommend you?

Nice sig line... 28 years of it sucks, especially the waiting for real health care reform.

19. Nope, not falling for the 'hope & change' bullshit anymore.
The American People got 'fired up and ready to go' for Obama, then he left them in favor of Corporate America and the Wealthy Elite.

His Union Busting (NAFTA) HCR/DLC SHIT Bill proves he likes Ronald Reagan more than FDR. So what makes you think he gives a fuck about Working Americans and will follow through with 'helping' them out on the jobs front?
