DISGRACED sprinter Ben Johnson claims he has obtained an explosive confession from a man who had access to the Olympic doping control room at the 1988 Seoul Games and who admits he spiked the 100m winner's drink with an anabolic steroid.

The alleged confession by Andre Jackson, who the Seoul 100m runner-up Carl Lewis has described as "a family friend", is contained in Johnson's autobiography due to be published in February.

In his autobiography, titled Seoul to Soul, Johnson says he will present proof he was the victim of sabotage, that his drink was spiked with stanozolol while he was waiting to provide a urine sample in the drug testing area after the 100m final.

"I did actually have an opportunity to meet and speak with Andre Jackson about this and he confessed," Johnson claims in an email.

In 2006, Johnson claimed that Lewis had been "involved" in a conspiracy.

But Lewis, in his own book Inside Track, ridiculed the possibility that Jackson, whom he described as "a family friend", would have tampered with Johnson's drink.
