Anybody Know This Guy?

Now, just a couple of questions:
First of all, who is he? And secondly, should I find it at all strange that he's the poster child for the financial and/or insurance industries?

I mean, when I look at him should I be thinking, "Whoa, Dude! That guy is really bummed out over the question of refinancing! I can relate!"
Or maybe, "If I don't lower the cost of my car insurance, I might become a serial bank robber just like him!"


Scariest of all though, is this the way they actually picture potential new clients?
