Clearly, Tom doesn't like to have his nose rubbed in the racist Republican crap.

single payer insurance without even knowing it. They were talking about the evils of socialism and he said that vets keep telling him that they don't want to go to the VA hospitals. What they want is vouchers to get care where they want to get it. Buwahahaha! That's how Medicare for all would work. Whether it's vouchers or a Medicare card, it's a single payer type of payment by the government for health care . I wonder if that's why he ran as well as Markos putting him in his place?

I looked it up. After Tancredo said that veterans don't like the VA health
care system markos Molistas told him he was a veteran not, paraphrasing "Some guy who supported the Vietnam war then got a deferment because he was depressed" Then Tancredo told him to apologize or he would leave and Molista just laughed at him and Tancredo got up and walked out.

From Wikipedia:

As a Republican student activist Tancredo spoke in support of the Vietnam War. After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado he became eligible to serve in Vietnam in June 1969. Tancredo has said he went for his physical, telling doctors he had been treated for depression, and eventually got a "1-Y" deferment<6>

6. Actually, back in the '60s, having been treated for depression was much more of a stigma than it is
today. It sounds like KOs isn't aware of the history of the treatment of mental illness in this country. Additionally, it almost sounds like Kos was making light of depression, which can be a crippling condition.

If Tancredo actually had been treated for depression, he may very well have been turned away from military service back then.

I'm not a big Tancredo fan, but I think that Kos could have made his point without getting into Tancredo's medical history.
