Do any Republicans take their disdain for "government run healthcare" to its logical conclusion
and openly advocate canceling Medicare?

2. They should all tear up their Social Security cards
and refuse all "socialized" programs they may be eligible for (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc.) If they loathe "socialized everything" so much let them prove it by refusing it all. While they're at it they can refuse the services of those nasty "socialized" police officers, fire fighters and other public servants. Let them pay top dollar for private security officers and others to take care of them.

6. Is anybody asking them "why" when the "but that's different!" claim is raised?
If not, shouldn't the Democratic Party consider sending different people to those "news" shows where the people talk over each other?

7. "Why - what - isn't it obvious?" or something rhyming with that's traditional
If the point is pressed, we discover the goalposts have wheels that are very well-greased, etc. It's sad how predictable the whole discussion can get.

8. You would be surprised at the number of people...
Who think the Republicans gave them Social Security and Medicare. Yes, there are people who actually think this.

Sometimes you finally get them to admit who actually gave it to them, but then they immediately retreat into their claims that yesteryear's Democrats were actually today's Republicans.

10. That's the disconnect.
If you're going to be spouting vague anti-government rhetoric, then wouldn't you think that the folks who brought you Social Security are the bad guys? If you really hate big government, wouldn't Medicare be among your first targets?

If someone hates government and thinks government shouldn't be involved at all in health care, then it follows immediately that one should oppose Medicare which is spending more than $400 billion this year on health care. Despite this logical step being so short and so obvious, I've never heard and elected official proposing the abolition of Medicare or seen a bumpersticker calling for this.
