Jon Voight just made me laugh
Apparently, the Canadians, Europeans and Australians are dying from their health care systems.

I bet that that's news to them.

6. he has always been a bit unstable
although I tried to google it unsucessfully, I recall a bizarre press conference Voight called a couple of decades ago (before his daughter rose to celebrity) where he wanted to say something about the plight of the american indian. He invited Elizabeth Taylor, as I recall, and some other celebrity whose identity escapes me.
He called all the press together, and then refused to say anything except to introduce his friends and say something about the Hopi indians or the Dahli Lama or something to that effect and that the news would come out soon. Then he stormed off and I recall Taylor looking completely flummoxed and lost.

I wish I could find reference to it, because it was completely bizarre.

4. I hate the fact that he's a good actor...
...wish he were talentless like Dennis Miller.

9. He's become a character actor now...
still he has presence, like in Tropical Thunder, his cameo at the end when he loses the Oscar, he was, unfortunately, hilarious.

12. There's a 100% death rate in Canada. ;)
and it's all due to that commie socialistic thing we have going here.

the US corporatist country, otoh, have some blood sucking vampires that live forever on the blood of the people.

10. It's odd how actors ted to be drawn to the political positions they perceive
as consonant with the roles they have been called to play that they like.

In later years, I think Voigt has been cast as a General, a CEO, that sort of person. Others have taken to a liberal role they were cast in too enthusiastically for the powers that be, and got themselves in trouble, work-wise, for a number of years.

11. It seemed like he was reading from "Teabagger Madlibs"
His speech didn't make any sense at all, but he got all of the code words in.

13. We are?
Well, it must be a very slow death, because we have a longer life expectancy than America.
