Dems you want to win - GET OUT THE VOTE
This year progressives seemed to take Election Season off. I did not get one call to get out the vote, and the usual places I called didn't know about any.

But you know who did get out the vote? Rev BillyBob and his "New Life for White Christians" church. Father Hatesalotta got out the vote. The local Mormon Morons got out the vote.

2. I think you're confusing cause and effect
If the Democrats want turnout, they need to keep the base engaged. That means acting like actual Democrats.

5. I agree completely. Just worte the President and told him the same thing. I'm a Yellow Dog Dem and
while I won't vote for a Republican, if he continues to support Wall Street over the people, if he continues to be so arrogant as to believe he can get Republican support for ANYTHING, I won't bother to show up next time.

3. Preach it.
You can't win a goddammed thing when you don't show up at the polls. NY-23 would have gone R, if it hadn't been for Silly Sarah and Dithering Dick.

12. Sure it did. If Obama and the Dems had come out (pun intended) strongly for marriage
equality, gotten rid of DODT, repealed DOMA - made marriage equality an issue of civil rights, it would have been easier to defend the Maine law.

Instead, we were given a lukewarm sentiment that things maybe should be a little different in this area but we don't want to upset anyone so let's not make a big deal out of it.

People who were "on the fence" would certainly not be brought to the correct side of this issue by such weak-ass "support." And they obviously were not in Maine.

10. Enjoy the return of the Rs
and Silly Sarah. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot. It is one thing to chastise but at least get out and push for a viable candidate to replace incumbents you are unhappy with. Otherwise, you are electing extreme RW candidates.

Now VA has an AG that hates women and gays. I guess that's just not important to the voters that didn't show up.

16. Why did Obama renew the Patriot Act and Renew NSA Warrant less Spying on Americans?
I don't understand why he did this? If you want to engage the base.. this would not seem the way to do it?

Obama also said he would not use Executive Orders and signing statements to go around Congress.. yet that is what he is doing. Doesn't make sense?

I don't know.. after 9 years... I am tired of arguing. It probably is 3 dimension chess.. I'm just too tired to see it.

They seem to increase turn-out where I live (WA). In fact, since the election fell in the middle of my work week, I might well have forgotten...except that I had already done it and dropped it off...

On edit, couldn't vote for marriage in Maine, but I voted to keep domestic partnership in WA, it's the main reason I voted this cycle, those religionist assholes need to go down. (PS, I support marriage for any adults, anywhere if that is their desire)
