| Our Dem mayor lost, the Republican alcoholic fucktard won |
 |
She was mayor for 2 terms. The real estate republican asshole won. Now I have to stop being lazy and get off my ass and sit in on EVERY CITY COUNCIL MEETING starting in January to make sure this moron doesnt get away with anything. The rest of the city council, save one person, is also Republican morons. This does not bode well for the town. Its being gentrified to accomodate real estate developers. at the cost of the environment, and the local people. I hope this is not a sign of the times.

| 6. Chicago developers mostly |

and a few from other cities. Slowly making it into a fudge and T shirt tourist town. Ignoring the plight of the local people, and making the homes unaffordable for the poor. We have lost many local people, over half the town is owned by out of state second homeowners now. I am mostly concerned about the destruction of the forests and wetlands also in the area that have been destroyed to build huge communities of McMansions. Our Dem mayor put a stop to the condomania that was taking over the town. The recession helped stop much of it. But these idiots want to continue their destruction of this community in whatever way they can. Right now the recession is a blessing in disguise.

| 4. South Haven michigan small town |

but it's a microcosm of a larger problem. the poor and middle class are losing ground fast to gentrification of the area. Wealthy people buying up the town and developing the area to accomodate the uber rich. Environmentally precious wetlands being built over for McMansions.
