Poll question: November 2, 2009 - If health care as written in the current house bill stands w/o amendments

Passes the floor....

Will you support it? (Accept that this is the only legislation that we are going to get and hope to work to further better legislation in the years to come)...

Will you oppose it? (Stand up and fight against the legislation being passed. This legislation is a corporate gift and it should not be written into law)....

No way will I support a bill that rewards the killer insurance companies in profits per usual.

In fact, I no longer trust Alan Grayson after hearing his cheerleading for the bill.

6. Alan Grayson shouldn't be given trust for giving strong words to republicans.
He's been lauded here for giving some nice trash talk, but not a whole lot else.

Just my opinion.

14. Paul Krugman also said it's okay. I don't know what to think.
It's nothing like what I want. But, politically, I guess it's important that the Democrats succeed, and maybe it will make it easier to expand coverage in the future. That's the best I can think of to say about it.

I honestly don't know whether I want this to pass or not.

5. Fix the economy and create jobs now. Then get single payer in
a couple years.

9. The choice is obvious.
Incremental reform or zero reform...for the foreseeable future?

I wish I could say i'm surprised to see so many DUers support "zero" option. Thankfully, our Democratic legislators won't be so short-sighted and pony-fixated.

13. I opposed bank bailouts too.
Corporate give aways have GOT TO STOP! Listen to Michael Moore in the links I posted above.

10. Other: please spare us the obvious push polls
You are fully entitled to your opinion (which I agree with , more or less), but I find such a staged 'choice' somewhat insulting. Your poll clearly has no purpose other to promote your view, not to gather information.

12. No, it isn't. There are two camps here on DU

Those who believe this reform is a foot in the door

And, those who believe that this corporate reform that will either keep us where we are or set us back.

Both opinions were represented.

It wasn't a push poll. It is what people argue back and forth here, all day long.

16. Oppose, though I haven't given up hope for modification yet
If the Kucinich amendment gets in, I'll support it and work for single payer at the state level. Or if they peel off some of the good parts as separate legislation, I'll support that.

17. This is so amazing.
70% are against a bill that is MUCH better than the bill that will get signed by the President.

I knew freepers lived in an alternative reality. I didn't know 70% of DUers did as well.
