The Pluto Paradox - Is that part of Obama's problem?
When watching what President Obama is doing, at times he makes very odd movements off the path he was on. In general, he has a course set, but to me he makes deviations that I don't understand.

I believe that some of them are calculated. He and Rahm or whoever have decided that will be the best move to make.

I wonder about all of them though.

When astronomers were studying Uranus they noticed it made an unexpected move from its orbit. From this they deduced that there was a planet they couldn't see that was exerting a gravitational pull. Finally the optical devices were strong enough, and there was what became Neptune. Pluto was first discovered in the same way. It couldn't be seen, but finally it was revealed.

Cheney and Bush left an unholy mess. I have always wondered what situations they left that we have no idea about? We may never know. I believe some, but not all, of the unexpected paths are due to evil and planned ideas Darth left behind.

3. Certainly possible.
Everybody can only see what they can see. That sounds kind of redundant, but I agree. There are certainly all sorts of factors at work that need consideration that we have no idea about. I hope that giving Obama the benefit of the doubt, to have the right goals and move toward them in the best way he can see, pays out in the end. He is a smarter person than I am; I hope that he can see all the players on the table clearly.

4. The President will have information we will never know...
He must react to more forces that will ever be revealed.

Those forces will perturb the movement of foreign policy and domestic policy. A lot he does, especially foreign diplomacy, are made for the sake of the American empire.

I don't think that Darth Cheney is pulling the strings from beyond his undisclosed location. We are an empire, and an empire does what it must to maintain its existence. The only cure would be to divest ourselves of empire, and no country every did that willingly.

6. I always thought Goofy was funnier than Pluto.
But after 8 years of Dubya, I don't laugh at goofy so much anymore.

7. FWIW, Pluto wasn't discovered that way
and Neptune didn't need to wait for better optics - 2 people did the calculations, and someone found it almost at once, given the coordinates.

http://www.universetoday.com/guide-to-space/neptune/who-discovered-neptune/

They tried the same for Pluto, but it was actually pure chance they found something when they looked:

Pluto was discovered in 1930 by a fortunate accident. Calculations which later turned out to be in error had predicted a planet beyond Neptune, based on the motions of Uranus and Neptune. Not knowing of the error, Clyde W. Tombaugh at Lowell Observatory in Arizona did a very careful sky survey which turned up Pluto anyway.

After the discovery of Pluto, it was quickly determined that Pluto was too small to account for the discrepancies in the orbits of the other planets. The search for Planet X continued but nothing was found. Nor is it likely that it ever will be: the discrepancies vanish if the mass of Neptune determined from the Voyager 2 encounter with Neptune is used. There is no Planet X. But that doesn't mean there aren't other objects out there, only that there isn't a relatively large and close one like Planet X was assumed to be. In fact, we now know that there are a very large number of small objects in the Kuiper Belt beyond the orbit of Neptune, some roughly the same size as Pluto.
