Do anyone use CREDO mobile? I was thinking of switching. It's a great
idea to give a portion of revenue to progressive causes, but I'm concerned with bad service, coverage, etc. Any customers out there?
Thanks!

1. I plan to switch to CREDO soon. They use the Sprint network, so coverage should be pretty good
everywhere.

I also think it's a good way to support progressive causes, just by paying regular bills.

2. I just switched less than two weeks ago....

to Credo. The transition process was painless and the coverage and service are comparable to what I had with T-mobile, but I'm saving a lot on the data plan. CREDO's is only 4.99/month and I couldn't find it for less than $19.99 with others, and you had to have a minimum phone plan of $39.99 to boot. With CREDO, it's $4.99 with all phone plans.

So far, so good. :)

4. I'm also thinking about switching to CREDO.
My T-Mobile contract just expired. Thanks for posting - hope we get some input from other DU'ers.

5. Does anybody know how international coverage is?
That's a critical consideration for our family plan -- we need good coverage between the U.S. and Baja Norte, not just within the U.S.

6. I have had it for years
It used to be called Working Assets, in case you have heard of them. They use the Sprint network and their coverage has always been excellent. My wife flies all over the US for her job and I cannot recall one dropped call, anywhere, ever. The customer service has always been fantastic. We have rarely needed to call them, usually it only happens when we have some odd question that isn't answered on the website or when it is time to upgrade phones or plans. They are helpful and never had tried to sell us anything we didn't want. On the contrary, they have have offered ideas on ways to save money or get more for what we are spending. Plus, if it matters to you, all of our calls have been fielded by call centers here in the United States. No getting forwarded to some guy named "Dave" in Bangalore India.

If I sound like a fan it's because I am. I try to be objective though so I will mention that their selection of phones is not as robust as some other carriers, though there is something for any type of cell user there from the most basic phones to very respectable PDA types with all the features a technophile could ask for, and plenty in between. Also, at last check, Credo's plan prices were not the very cheapest available, though they certainly aren't the most expensive either. We don't care; it just isn't worth trying to save $5 a month for a crappy cell phone company.

I say do it. You'll be quite happy with them.

7. we just switched! Recieved the phones and I have coverage even here in the mountains
We get a family plan for our home (mountains of Virginia) plus our elderly parents (Washington state and Tidewater Virginia)

So far so good - if WE have good coverage then I think we are set! By the way - they sent us five phones with temporary phone numbers activated so we could each try them out in our homes!!! We will just call in and have our existing numbers transfered to the new phones once we are sure they work in each location!

8. Not mobile, but thumbs up on landline!
I have been with Credo (formerly Working Assets) for years. Not the cheapest, but there are some great features including: discounted calls to other Credo members, plenty of good information on progressive causes in the monthly bill, including congressional contact info, and perhaps best of all, you can call any politician FOR FREE. I do. Often.

9. Wow, thank you for this heads up! I never heard of them and it just so happens my
contract with Verizon is up. I am definitely going to look into Credo.

10. Been with the mobile group for almost a year now
And they have been providing my home long distance for about 16 years. On the mobile, I get better coverage and fewer dropped calls than all the folks I know who have AT&T (spousal unit included--hard head about switching). Love, love my LG Rumor phone.

Their service is super. I've had to use it only once and my issue got resolved right away and it was a really bizarre thing. Can't complain about service.

I don't use "information" with them on the house line. I got nailed for a $6 info call. Once. I'm not sure if it was because my line provider screwed me over because of not using their affiliate for long distance or if Working Assets was hooked up with an gouging information provider. It was several years ago.

11. I've been using them for over 2 years now...
Never had a problem with them.
Coverage is fine... except for the one spot in my living room where I tend to sit on the couch!
Other than that, they're great!
Go for it...
