1. Looks like calculus perhaps?
Not sure what the symbols stand for, but maybe it's safe to say --
it's not rocket science. :D

3. Fluid Mechanics
Not sure which exact equation that is, since engineering school was 25 years ago, but it's about fluid flow...

The upside down triangle or the V, one of them must equal 0

Now the meaning of the terms is the feminine and the masculine. You will notice that in the movie Sparta the symbol for the man is right side up triangle, but in that image it is upside down.

So upside down man, or V one of them must be 0 or both.

Peter was crucified upside down.

Upside down triangle also means divergence, which has a good comment in 12 monkeys.

Once you know one or the other must be 0, the bottom equation becomes easier.

some parts of equation cancel each other out.

v/i + 0 = 1/p (upside down triangle) * p - g * (upside down triangle) * h + 0

Cancel out some stuff

v/i = (upside down triangle) - g * (upside down triangle) * h

so either

0 = (upside down triangle) - g * (upside down triangle) * h
For this equation to be true, (upside down triangle) must equal 0. Or G and H would both have to be 1.

or

V = 0

and if V = 0 because (upside down triangle) = 0

Then both (upside down triangle) and V = 0 and g and h can be any number.

So final guess would be either

V = 0 and (upside down triangle) = 0 and g is any number and h is any number.

Or V = 0 And ( (upside down triangle) = 0 or (upside down triangle) is any number and g and h are 1.)

Note that in both equations, i can not be 0...

Unless you have learned to divide by 0.

Edit: since someone mentioned the Matrix in another thread, a good quote in that movie, "The One is like being in love." That might help with the equation.

8. Something about conservation of volume of a fluid
There was just this cool episode of Time Warp on the other day where they showed a billiard ball dropped into a tank of water, compared with the same ball coated with some hydrophobic film of some sort, and the difference was amazing.

I bet it's something like that.
