Kanye West victim of death hoax

Kanye West's girlfriend has assured fans the rapper is alive and well after rumours he had died swept the web.

A false story saying the Love Lockdown star had been killed in a car crash in LA started doing the rounds earlier this week and "RIP Kanye West" became a top trending topic on Twitter, reports E! Online.

But Kanye's girlfriend Amber Rose was not amused, and posted a message on the social networking site saying the hoax was in "extreme poor taste", adding: "This 'RIP Kanye West' topic is not funny and it's NOT TRUE!"
