The way we were

The Good Old Days....Try to Remember that Kind of September when Life was Slow and oh so Mellow...
Can it be that it was all so Simple then or has time rewritten every line...and if we had the chance again would we do it all over again?

Memories, light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories of the way we were.
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
smiles we give to one another
for the way we were.
Can it be that it was all so simple then
or has time rewritten every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
tell me would we? Could we?
Memories, may be beautiful and yet
what's too painful to remember
we simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we will remember
whenever we remember
the way we were.

2. Thank you. I didn't know that Gladys Knight and the Pips were the first to do this.
I thought it was Barbra Streisand, but now I know better. (Nothing wrong with Barbrs's rendition btw).

3. Babs' was the first on the charts, when the movie came out.
Gladys and the Pips released their version later.
