The mad dog on my front porch

won't go away. I toss some steak in his direction so that he'll let people use the door, then toss even more steak so that I can enter and exit safely. I can't afford to eat steak, but it's the only thing he'll take. Even with all that, he snaps and snarls and growls and foams at the mouth, frightening me and everyone else. Why oh why won't he just go away?
