I have no idea who 'Jon & Kate' are and I hope I never find out

once a day I scan the headlines on CNN. last few days/weeks it seems there is always something going on with these Jon and Kate folks.

based on the headlines it seems like they must have come from a reality show or something like that.

so far I've managed not to click on any of their stories. even though I know they split up and she is accusing him of stealing a bunch of money, I still have no idea who they are.

they sure are getting the headlines tho!

wouldn't it be nice if the media gave as much coverage to things that actually matter?

It would be impossible to be a person of any awareness and not have heard of them. That's the point. The media has this power.

We can't let it get to us and should ignore those two as hard as possible. And the temptation is there to be curious, because the media is trying to distract us.

do I know who they are and that they are supposedly on some reality show. Grifters and low life exploiting the American naivete' and gullibility, it seems to me. It is distressing how much our "mighty" media have fallen to be covering these inconsequential individuals 24/7.

they bumped repeats of "Clean Sweep," which I loved, and can't find on TV anywhere anymore. Bring back "Clean Sweep," even if it's in endless reruns!

It used to be great TV - junkyard wars, specials on implosion, specials on extreme heat & cold. Now it's just house flippers, re-makes of people who have no clue about how how to dress & crappy reality shows. What a fucking waste. A&E's gone down the dumper, too.

9. I used to watch it too, having kids close in age. I figured it would make my house seem less

chaotic. But Kate is way too much a control freak for me. Jon is having some sort of quarter life crisis. Weird people. Feel sorry for the kids, especially Maddie...that kid is very intelligent and will pick up on all the fighting.

Team Edward! LOL. My girls are too young for that stuff quite yet, being 4 and 5 but it is funny. They keep asking to see Twilight (they saw all the previews) but not so sure they can handle Vampires at that age.

and that is why most rational people don't have 8 kids because by the time they have 1-3 kids they realize the folly of such a decision.

Those strong enough to continue bearing more kids deal with the consequences.

However injecting 6 babies into any situation would make family life nuts.

I'd never intentionally watch - even a second - of 'Dancing With the Stars' or 'American Idol' or any show of that ilk, but you either get blindsided or the crap is forced into the periphery. Unless you're a hermit, you just can't avoid the culture you live in, no matter how insipid.
