Robert Menendez, I will never vote for you again
because today you voted to kill me.

At least Republicans will spit in my face instead of stab me in the back.

7. Yes. Senate Finance Committee is the most conservative of all the committees.
We needed to just get it out of the committee.

8. he was the lonely voice against this bill and supports
public option.. i think this bill will not pass as is now. I think Menendez knows this. So, don't give up hope. This bill will be minced once it joins with the other Reid has and is sent to the house.

10. Pab, I totally respect where you are coming from... but there are real procedural reasons
for passing this bill out of committee today. There is a reason it's called politics and the game has rules. Why else would Kerry, Rockafeller and Schumer support it when they've been fighting Baucus the entire time? Why would AHIP suddenly shift and start fighting it? Were they pulling a double-head fake? No, it's because they didn't like it being watered down. I've posted on why this had to happen today even though we were holding our noses to do it. Please try to understand. It's definitely offensive, but it's a necessary evil to getting a PO.

Peace.

12. I'm tired of Democrats getting away with being offensive
and then being pissed at us for taking offense. The fact that any Democrat voted for this bill for any reason is insulting, and I'm not standing and letting them insult me any longer.

19. There won't be a final bill.
Or, if there is, it will be modeled on this piece of crap.

Reid is going to use the "bipartisan" excuse to swap the provisions of this bill for the vast majority of the HELP bill, leaving us with a bill that either (a) the House will never accept, or (b) will make things worse.

15. I ABSOLUTELY agree with this statement
Edited on Tue Oct-13-09 03:58 PM by Sebass1271
and it makes me proud to see that some of us can see ahead. This will not be the actual bill and i have strong confidence that the final one will have public option. Another reason why it was important to pass this shitty bill is because now we can move forward and not have it staled in the finance com any longer. Baucus is a traitor to his party and he was holding up Health care reform with this piece of crap. I am glad the vote was today we can now move ahead and chop this shit into pieces and make into a real bill.

Baucus good riddance, we don't have to see your face on tv for a while.

13. Holy overreaction Batman!
He voted to kill you today? He voted not to kill the entire effort before it could ever get out of committee not you. In fact, the safe bet is you will be no more likely to die today than you were yesterday, last month, last year, or ten years ago.
