"Capitalism" had a solid Friday.
7th overall, but 3rd in the all important per-screen average, behind the critic-approved 'Zombieland' and the 'Toy Story 3D' double feature. Not too shabby.

I saw the film last night at a N. Dallas indie theater and it was a blast. There was a full house and the audience was raucous. People laughed, gasped in horror, and literally shouted at the screen. Seeing an MM movie (or any substantive film, really) with a crowd of people who "get it" is always more enjoyable than watching it alone at home. I'd also recommend going to a theater that serves drinks. :)

1. I am going to see it this week
to boost ratings.
Already know about laissez-faire capitalism as does most of the world, Americans think neo-liberalism is real Liburalism!
Raygun is one of the evil-doers to blame.

5. Michael Moore, by his own words, would prefer you rose up and started a revolution...
Or would he, I mean you - by going back that many times - are only giving him more money. Oh dear, isn't that...

CAPITALISM?

6. Commerce antedates capitalism.
Only a nitwit would think otherwise. Did someone hijack your account and make this ridiculous post?

7. Snarky repubs will make that "observation"...
... that MM should practice some kind of non-capitalistic lifestyle, and work for free. Just like Al Gore should not drive cars or fly in jets. :eyes: Because, OBVIOUSLY a liberal/progressive's message is comPLETELY discredited if they don't live in the woods, off the grid, eating roots and berries -- where they will, coincidentally, never be heard from again. I know YOU were only making a joke -- lol -- but there will be those who follow that line of thinking as some kind of "gotcha" on MM. ( :eyes: again)

2. We just got back. and I'd highly recommend.
Very educational and entertaining. Of course, it was teeth-clenching provocative at times, but it ends on a very inspiring note. My two teenage sons were glued to the screen. My oldest caught a "Capitalism" promotional t-shirt the theater staff threw to the audience before the movie started. He says he's wearing it to school on Monday. (I bet they make him take if off, though.)

4. I would tell him to refuse if they try to make him take it off...
While schools have the right to prohibit clothing that could be seen as offensive (such as promoting drugs, sex, profanity, etc.) they can not prohibit clothing on the basis of politics or religion. Students do have a right to express themselves, and I think it is very important that people stand up for their rights. If they would try to suspend him for such a thing then it would no doubt catch the attention of a lot of people in the community and the controversy would teach an important lesson about free speech, even if it resulted in your kid missing a couple days of school he would learn a lot more in those couple days than he would likely learn in the classroom. Of course you are the parent and you need to decide whether such an act of civil disobedience would be appropriate, all I can tell you is if it were my kid I would be telling them that I would encourage him to refuse to turn the shirt inside out even if it got them suspended.
