8. Funny. I have guaged my mortality on the fact that Don Ho
Edited on Sat Apr-14-07 07:33 PM by Texas Explorer
was still alive. One of those "Is he still alive?" things that when you find out that he/she is, indeed, still alive, you realize how old you yourself are getting to be. I guess it's because he was most famous when I was a child. I've done the same with others like Dick Clark.

May you rest in peace Mr. Ho.

10. And then there were three...
Strange how that seems to work.

I recall him from when I was younger, saw him on several variety shows. If I recall, he basically stayed in one of his hotels and entertained for the last several years.

RIP Don Ho, Aloha.

12.  February 1971
I flew to Hawaii to meet my husband on R&R from Vietnam for a week. We did see a Don Ho show, and as young Marines stood out in his rather older audience, he made it a point to thank them for their service....that night he thanked my husband and sent a bottle of champagne to our table.

RIP Don Ho, and thank you again for a nice memory.
